What a journey designing my own business logo.
2019 has been an amazing year from day #1. In February I officially registered my business and a few weeks after I’ve put on paper my first Logo idea. I was having a nurturing day doing yoga and meditation together with other mothers and the day closed with a peaceful session of mandala drawing together with my friend and Artist Dana Elayev , who guided us into spontaneous creativity with her encouraging words.
The Seed of Life came into my drawing first, followed by lotus flowers. I started adding colours that represent the elements of nature and slowly the forming began.
After that first day of creation, I have put the drawing away for a few days and got back to it one early morning.
I turned the little square cardboard on the other side and started drawing the second version with colour pencils.
The idea was to somehow make it smaller and more compact. Therefore, the lotus flowers entered the circle and this time they came to be only 5. The colours changed position and in the sixth triangle appeared an eye and a heart.
I was very surprised when I started seeing much more in this part of the logo. In that eye I saw the Moon in the night sky and also a Head of a person with open arms and loving heart. The yellow petals around the circle were meant to represent the sun, so at that point I was quite amazed by the result.
The whole universe in one little picture. A picture that is supposed to represent who I am and what I am so passionate about…Nature.
I was satisfied with the process and the result so far, but it didn’t feel quite complete yet. I decided to put it away for the second time and get back to it when it’s time.
I took it back into my hands after quite a while and decided I want my logo to be drawn in Water colours. In April I met Martha Silver Breninger and after I saw her artwork, I decided I want her to draw it for me. I passed her the little white cardboard and added a last moment change to the drawing. Instead of the yellow petals representing the Sun, I just wanted another golden circle line all around.
In a few days the drawing was finished and ready for pick up. Nicely framed, it looked just perfect.
Then from that day, many more things happened, but they are part of another story. Winter passed, Springtime was at the door and I decided I want to take the next step. I needed to make my business cards before the “Endure” Art exhibition in October.
And so be it…I learned how to design the card from the printing shop’s artwork specifications and very quickly it came to life. I ordered 500 of them….they look amazing :-) and they are ready to be distributed.
And now, for the first time in my life, I am even designing my own Website and composing the first post for my Blog. I am amazed by the things I can do when I have the “CAN DO” attitude.
WOW. I did it! :-D
Now, put October the 3rd until the 14th on your calendar….or even better, come at the Opening event on the 5th.
Come and say hello to myself and Martha at the “Endure” exhibition in Kalorama. We will both have our artworks exposed and there will be many more awesome women artists for you to meet.
Thank you - Hvala
